my favorite tweet of the day...
@realdaytrotter really, really excited we were able to make time to tape sessions with Caitlin Rose, Korean As Asian, Chris Scruggs and Eef B today!!
(yes, that means there will be a Caitlin Rose daytrotter session in the near future!)

this was the quote on my franklin covey planner today.
pretty much sums up my week. I’ll take it. no complaints here.

Tripit
daryn:
I first heard of Tripit when they launched a couple years back, but though people raved about it, I didn’t really see the need. I had my own system for tagging all of the emails related to a trip in my gmail, as well as manually entering things into iCal, and for the handful of times I travel each year, that worked fine for me. Well, I finally started using Tripit a few weeks ago, and boy...

Today we happened upon two of those videos, and we haven’t stopped smiling since.
The first is for Elizabeth Johnson:

Quaker
Today I’m submitting two tracks to Quaker for use in a commercial.
I’m doubling down on this one and feel really good about both tracks being submitted.
They were both written and recorded in less than two days by two separate artists so I hope the fast work that went into either track is handsomely rewarded.
Fingers super crossed!!!
You could take a dump and name it Vampire and people would buy it.

Independent Lens: Copyright Criminals →
Caught this last night on Nashville Public Television.
Great look behind the scenes and a dissection of copyright law and how it applies to sampling in hip hop and other music styles.
It was incredible to see how many times one drum beat by Clyde Stubblefield (the original Funky Drummer who played with James Brown) has been sampled in all of our favorite classic hip hop tracks. They showed at...
